About us
The EACR-AACR Tumor Microenvironment Conference 2020 brings together leading experts and thought leaders from across the globe to explore the latest breakthroughs in cancer research, particularly focusing on the Tumor Microenvironment (TME). This conference is a joint collaboration between the European Association for Cancer Research (EACR), the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR), and Associação Portuguesa de Investigação em Cancro (ASPIC). Set in Lisbon, Portugal, from March 02-04, 2020, the event aims to bridge the gap between basic and translational research, addressing both scientific advancements and clinical applications related to the TME.
Cancer is a complex disease where the tumor itself is not just a mass of mutated cells but a dynamic ecosystem of various cell types, immune cells, stromal cells, and extracellular components that interact in unique ways. The TME plays a crucial role in regulating cancer progression, metastasis, and resistance to treatment. This conference will focus on identifying critical mechanisms that govern the interactions within the TME and how these insights can be translated into more effective cancer therapies.

Our Mission
The mission of the EACR-AACR Tumor Microenvironment Conference is to provide a platform for discussion and collaboration on the role of the TME in cancer biology. We aim to highlight cutting-edge research, innovative therapeutic strategies, and clinical findings that will help shape the future of cancer treatment.
